Originally released on cassette for a May 2016 West Coast tour, “Dirt Birth” was recorded to tape at the group’s practice space in Tempe, AZ and captures Detached Objects at a raw and explosive period of time: a mix of intricate guitar-heavy garage, potentially “loose” pop-punk and legitimately reckless grunge.
While the status of the band is currently up in the air, and may be for the indefinite future, “Dirt Birth” is a document of dragging oneself forward through a difficult moment and seeing what would happen next, and it reappears now in the form of a short-run, hand-assembled 12”.
